Butterfly beach is located south of Goa in Canacona Taluka & just north of Palolem. This beach is nestle in a cove & only accessible by boat. Due to the nature and limited access this beach is isolated and exotic.
As there is no road access from the mainland, you will have to hire a canoe from Palolem or Agonda beach.
To get to Palolem or Agonda take a cab or hire a bike. It is really difficult to reach Agonda or Palolem Beach because it falls a bit away from the main road(The National Highway). The best way to reach this beach is by a scooter or motors bike. There are no local buses that ply here & make sure you have your transportation covered.
Not far from Agonda beach is Fort Cabo de Rama, untouched by most of the visitors in this region. The atmosphere of the fort creates a sense of history and drama that very few would fail to appreciate. The fort is named after Rama, hero of the Hindu epic Ramayana. According to the local legends, Rama stayed here with his wife Sita during the period of 12-year exile.
Galjibaga Beach, Rajbhag Beach and Palolem Beach are the nearest tourist spots. Again, check the 'Maps' section to download and print one of the maps posted here.
