Amid utter chaos and pandemonium, Merces villagers on Sunday booted out the notified RP 2021 and along with it the draft RP committee stating that the plan is detrimental for the village.

Amidst opposition from the draft RP committee members, Santa Cruz villagers voted to scrap the notified Regional Plan 2021 for the village at a special gram sabha meeting at Santa Cruz HS hall on Sunday.

The special gram sabha of Benaulim panchayat on Sunday resolved that the Panchayat will not approve any new developmental projects, including multi-housing projects till the anomalies and discrepancies in the notified RP 2021 are rectified and made effective.

Goa Chief Minister Digambar Kamat today sought to allay fears regarding the land use plan notified recently by the state government amid criticism.

President of Confederation of Real Estate Developers' Association of India, Goa, (CREDAI) Nilesh Salkar has said that for the demand to scrap the Regional Plan Goa 2021 is highly irrational.

The villagers of Navelim, at the special gram sabha, on Sunday,   resolved to  demand scraping of the  regional plan for their village claiming that it is in correct and  there are too many flaws and errors, which will be difficult to rectify.

Seeking to allay fears over the land use plan notified by the Goa government, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Thursday said it had been designed meticulously to ensure that the commom man was not affected. The 'Goa Regional Plan 2021'(RP 2021) will also ensure that the state is not robbed of its greenery, Kamat said.

The villages groups want the regional plan scrapped and a new plan drawn based on the Task Force Draft Regional Plan that was sent to the villages.

Joining the opposition to the notified village plan for Curtorim (part of Regional Plan 2021), South Goa MP Francisco Sardinha demanded that necessary changes be made in the plan and blamed the TCP department for the errors.

The Pilerne Citizens Forum (PCF) has demanded that the notified Regional Plan 2021 be scrapped within 15 days.
