In line with his assurance in the House, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, said that the government will begin accepting suggestions on Regional Plan 2012 from the people "within a couple of days."

The Village  Group of  Goa (VGG) has demanded with the Government  to  take  the Village Panchayats (VPs)  into confidence  while finalising  the  Regional Plan 2021.

The Government through the Bill intends to amend Section 2 of the Goa Land Use (Regulation) Act, 1991 so as to prohibit use of the Agricultural Land for any purpose other than Agriculture.

The government,  announced that a notification would soon be issued fixing the hearing period for general queries on the presently reworked Regional Plan 2021, from August 16 to September 15.

Stating that the drafting of the Regional Plan 2021 was an exercise well done for some parts of the State, the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Parrikar, on Thursday said that the plan would be finalised taking all stakeholders into confidence after doing away with discrepancies that have crept into it.
